ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY 2

Arizona law
All the people around the world have human rights, it does not matter their appearance, skin color, economic position or religion beliefs, as humans we are equal. Last April 23rd, Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed the nation’s toughest bill on illegal immigration into law. What Does the Signing of Arizona's Immigration Bill SB1070 mean? The law means that all immigrants in Arizona must now carry their alien registration documents and it means that police can question anyone they think may be in the United States illegally. It will also address people that knowingly hire illegal immigrants or who transport them. Addressing questions of racial profiling, Jan Brewer said: "Racial profiling is illegal. It is illegal in America, and it's certainly illegal in Arizona," So it is contradictory what she said and what the Arizona law is. (The New York Times, Politics, April 23, 2010)

One of the arguments favors of this law is that “Immigrants are not necessary to increase the economical development of USA”, but who do you think make the hard work? Certainly they do. All people who come to USA to obtain a better life style or to help their families who live abroad. Immigrants work from sunrise to sunset; they earn the minimum salary, without medical insurance and so on. They work every day in order to live, they have to pay bills, rent, and they pay taxes as all people do. So they are productive, it doesn´t matter if they are immigrants or not. Undoubtedly, they collaborate to increase the economical development of Arizona and as a result the financial status of USA.

On Arizona law, people who look like a Hispanic are the same as a delinquent. To judge a people like they appearance is discrimination.  As Jan Brewer said “Racial Profiling is illegal….” So if someone is traveling in Arizona’s Streets they don´t have to demonstrate that they are legal citizens because they can look like Hispanic or Latino. Actually many of people who immigrated to USA have family, children who were born in USA, and they are legal citizens but they have latin blood, they look like latino. The police can’t ask for your alien registration documents, it is illogical.  Who said that criminals only come from Latin-America?

Immigrants taking away job opportunities from native people. It is not true, illegal people don´t have the same opportunities as legal person in USA. The language is one of the first difficulties that they have to manage. So they can’t obtain really good jobs as legal citizens do, in addition immigrants accepted the hard work that citizens don´t want. Immigrants earn minimum wage something that legal people in USA don´t willing to do.  They move to USA with only one objective, to have a better life style, not to steal jobs.

Having said this, Arizona law is the newest Nazism, only changed Jews by Hispanics. Through history we have known discrimination, now we have the opportunities to defend our people in spite of we are in Mexico or USA. Fortunately this law was revoked, but we can’t put aside the intentions of this law, because many immigrants will be injured with all of these things.

My favorite dusk.
I remember clearly my 16th birthday. I received a valuable gift from nature. At that moment the nature showed me the most beautiful scenary; the environment was accomplice, and my feelings emerged from sleeping time. It was a memorable and cute event.

The afternoon was coming, I was sitting on the warm sand and I was playing with it, it was soft; the grains of sand were traveling in my hands, its texture made me feel a kind of massage. I was sitting alone and I observed that the beach looked clean, there were few people, I think the reason was that the beach was located far away in comparison to another. Time passed and the dusk began on the horizon with a special armony as a song.

The dusk looked as a perfect painting in the sky. The sky was reddish, the sun was the center of my world at that moment, it was making a deal with the sea, its reflex on the crystalline water was elegant, and the water movement gave life. A white seagull was passing and crossed the sky line; bird´s plumage shone with the sunbeams as a star in the night.

My feelings and thoughts emerged suddenly with that special environment. The relaxing sound of the sea and the fresh breeze touching my body made me feel peace, I forgot for a period  of time that I was on the beach and not in a dream;  by surprise  a unexpected sigh left my.  I asked myself how a dusk on the beach could make me feel that? At the moment I did not have any answer, so I decided to enjoy that amazing scene and keep it in my memory as photography in an album.

Undoubtedly it is my favorite dusk. I could have the opportunity to be in the right place at the right time. In the far away horizon, I saw more than a simple and daily dusk. I observed as God was painted in the sky one of his masterpieces dedicated to humanity. This experience gave me peace and relaxation that I never felt before.
