Creative Text "POEM" 2

I love you

I don´t know how I began to love you
I don't know when you came to my heart
you just took part of my life, and
I breathe because you are here right now.

I want to tell you the importance that for me you have
you are my world, you are my life,
you are the person who I want to stay
I touch my heart and you lodge there, in the craziest heart.

I want to be happy with you
I want to share with you the rest of my life
you are my air, you are my love,
with you I wish to stay every single night.

I close my eyes and immediately you come to my mind,
you live there, and you don't have any idea about that
I fell in love with your tenderness
I am in love with what you are.

2nd COMPARE AND CONTRAST ESSAY

Infatuation vs. love

Have you ever felt butterflies in your stomach? This sensation is something that most people have felt at least once in their life. In addition, people think that this feeling means love; however, it is far from it. Although infatuation and love are feelings there are some differences between them like their origin, how you see your mate and how long each can last. People can take into consideration these characteristics in order to identify if they are into infatuation or true love.

The biggest difference between infatuation and love is their origin. According to Helen Fisher, PhD Biological Anthropologist infatuation is “caused by a chemical reaction in the body. The hormones released accounts for some of the feelings of elation. In fact, you are "high" on “dopamine” that is the reason why you feel happy and you see the world "pink colored". Love on the other hand is a result of living day- to- day in a relationship, this feeling isn´t support by the highs of hormones, but by a share of time and respect of each other in the relationship.

Comparing both feelings you can notice another difference, it is how you see your mate in your relationship. In infatuation you are first than your couple the relationship is based on attraction, you see your partner as a person who can satisfy your sexual necessities more than a person who you want to share your life with. In infatuation your mate is “something” not “someone”, whereas in love your couple is your complement, is “someone” who is emotionally and intellectually compatible with you. Infatuation is selfish while real love is basically selfless.

Finally, the last difference between them is how long each can last. Infatuation can last, at most, several months before it starts to fade. Love, on the other hand, is capable of lasting fifty years or more. The reason is because infatuation is based on physical outlook whereas love is based on commitment, so time passes, your physical appearance can change; however, you never lose your capacity to love no matter how old you become.

Here are the three main differences between infatuation and love. As you can see with them now you can identify what infatuation is and what love is. If you look for one word to define infatuation and love, the first one can be possessiveness and the second can be is generosity. Love is what exists after infatuation fades.

ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY 2

Arizona law
All the people around the world have human rights, it does not matter their appearance, skin color, economic position or religion beliefs, as humans we are equal. Last April 23rd, Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed the nation’s toughest bill on illegal immigration into law. What Does the Signing of Arizona's Immigration Bill SB1070 mean? The law means that all immigrants in Arizona must now carry their alien registration documents and it means that police can question anyone they think may be in the United States illegally. It will also address people that knowingly hire illegal immigrants or who transport them. Addressing questions of racial profiling, Jan Brewer said: "Racial profiling is illegal. It is illegal in America, and it's certainly illegal in Arizona," So it is contradictory what she said and what the Arizona law is. (The New York Times, Politics, April 23, 2010)

One of the arguments favors of this law is that “Immigrants are not necessary to increase the economical development of USA”, but who do you think make the hard work? Certainly they do. All people who come to USA to obtain a better life style or to help their families who live abroad. Immigrants work from sunrise to sunset; they earn the minimum salary, without medical insurance and so on. They work every day in order to live, they have to pay bills, rent, and they pay taxes as all people do. So they are productive, it doesn´t matter if they are immigrants or not. Undoubtedly, they collaborate to increase the economical development of Arizona and as a result the financial status of USA.

On Arizona law, people who look like a Hispanic are the same as a delinquent. To judge a people like they appearance is discrimination.  As Jan Brewer said “Racial Profiling is illegal….” So if someone is traveling in Arizona’s Streets they don´t have to demonstrate that they are legal citizens because they can look like Hispanic or Latino. Actually many of people who immigrated to USA have family, children who were born in USA, and they are legal citizens but they have latin blood, they look like latino. The police can’t ask for your alien registration documents, it is illogical.  Who said that criminals only come from Latin-America?

Immigrants taking away job opportunities from native people. It is not true, illegal people don´t have the same opportunities as legal person in USA. The language is one of the first difficulties that they have to manage. So they can’t obtain really good jobs as legal citizens do, in addition immigrants accepted the hard work that citizens don´t want. Immigrants earn minimum wage something that legal people in USA don´t willing to do.  They move to USA with only one objective, to have a better life style, not to steal jobs.

Having said this, Arizona law is the newest Nazism, only changed Jews by Hispanics. Through history we have known discrimination, now we have the opportunities to defend our people in spite of we are in Mexico or USA. Fortunately this law was revoked, but we can’t put aside the intentions of this law, because many immigrants will be injured with all of these things.

My favorite dusk.
I remember clearly my 16th birthday. I received a valuable gift from nature. At that moment the nature showed me the most beautiful scenary; the environment was accomplice, and my feelings emerged from sleeping time. It was a memorable and cute event.

The afternoon was coming, I was sitting on the warm sand and I was playing with it, it was soft; the grains of sand were traveling in my hands, its texture made me feel a kind of massage. I was sitting alone and I observed that the beach looked clean, there were few people, I think the reason was that the beach was located far away in comparison to another. Time passed and the dusk began on the horizon with a special armony as a song.

The dusk looked as a perfect painting in the sky. The sky was reddish, the sun was the center of my world at that moment, it was making a deal with the sea, its reflex on the crystalline water was elegant, and the water movement gave life. A white seagull was passing and crossed the sky line; bird´s plumage shone with the sunbeams as a star in the night.

My feelings and thoughts emerged suddenly with that special environment. The relaxing sound of the sea and the fresh breeze touching my body made me feel peace, I forgot for a period  of time that I was on the beach and not in a dream;  by surprise  a unexpected sigh left my.  I asked myself how a dusk on the beach could make me feel that? At the moment I did not have any answer, so I decided to enjoy that amazing scene and keep it in my memory as photography in an album.

Undoubtedly it is my favorite dusk. I could have the opportunity to be in the right place at the right time. In the far away horizon, I saw more than a simple and daily dusk. I observed as God was painted in the sky one of his masterpieces dedicated to humanity. This experience gave me peace and relaxation that I never felt before.

My Evolution in Electronic Literacy 2

My Evolution in Electronic Literacy
Ten years ago  I did not have any idea about how to use   e-mail and  internet. That changed when one day my cousin Gaby helped me to open an e-mail account in order to be in contact with her, because she lives in Chicago. She gave me a brief explanation about the way I should use my “new e-mail account”.  I was excited because I would be finally part of the world wide web,  and that event was my introduction to the electronic environment.

Concerning my experience with electronic tools, it has been easy, fun, and productive. Now I am immersed in a technological world. Every day I tend to check my e-mail in order to be in contact with my family, friends or to check about any school issue. In addition, I have to use different kinds of electronic tools in order to do my academic work such as: blogs, word processors, and many more. Electronic literacy is becoming an essential knowledge in our days.

Nowadays, Technology and electronic tools have become an important aspect to improve my L2. The use of internet means an open door to the knowledge, if you know how to use it. For example, I  had the experience of been participant in a language Exchange, that helped me with my listening and speaking skills, and moreover allowed me to meet new people and their culture. The most recent electronic tool that I am currently   using is the blog, with this tool I can practice my writing and at the same time I can receive feedback from my classmates and teacher as well.  Electronic technology becomes undoubtedly more advanced and more available for us as time passes.

Finally, I have some expectations about the use of electronic literacy as a future English Language Teacher. For me electronic tools represent new ways to design and prepare my class and equally give lots of options to my students to do their academic works. All of them represent a variety of opportunities for educational or professional purposes, such as: online courses, master degrees, workshops, keep in touch with others teachers who live abroad and so on. Technology and Electronic tools are expanding our educational objectives.

As a conclusion I can say that electronic technology has taken a very important part of education in our days and so students can have greater accessibility to a wide range of information. For me the use of electronic tools means an advantage for my educational and professional development. These resources have become a handy set of tools for everyone, so that is why you should take advantage of them!
